The Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) has awarded aggregator status for the N3 network to OCSL.

OCSL work with many healthcare organisations such as; InHealth, Luton and Dunstable Hospital, Ingenica, Global Diagnostics and Pathology Partnership. We put in place an infrastructure over which private clinical data can be accessed, shared or transferred across the NHS network. OCSL’s collaboration with Orion Health ensured the successful delivery of ISV applications via our SaaS offerings. OCSL has provided a flexible, stable and scalable environment, using the N3 network.

N3 is a large scale internet protocol network connecting many different sites across the NHS. It is a part of the UK's critical national infrastructure with over 1.3 million NHS end users and over 50,000 connections. Can you imagine if all your staff were left without email? No neither can we, the N3 network can now become the enabler for more innovative IT solutions, from video diagnostic tools or better access to patient health information such as blood tests, scans and x-rays for both patients and GP’s.

So, why is N3 important?

N3 is crucial in delivering the National Programme for IT, being a part of the UK Critical National Infrastructure by providing access to national applications such as Choose and Book, Electronic Transmission of Prescriptions (ETP), Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS) and NHS Care Records Service. It wasn’t easy…

We are 1 of 4 N3 Aggregators in the country and in order to achieve N3 Aggregator status we met with the strict information governance standards set by HSCIC. This process required detailed and extensive due diligence which exceeded specific security and information governance standards required by the Department of Health.

If patient data matters to your organisation, then you can trust in the investment OCSL has made to achieve N3 aggregator status.
